Yo? Vani Gallardo, Packers Gameday, and Pathetic Division

Yo? Vani Gallardo
Yovani Gallardo - a stud? Electric fastball, devastating curveball? When I heard the Brewers signed Yovani earlier this year, I was pumped. And why not to be? His ERA was like 2.50 and he was 2nd in the NL in SO. But currently, his ERA is 3.86. In his last 6 games, his run totals have been 8,6,1,4,4,6. Yikes. Hopefully it's temporary and he will go back to being awesome.
Packers Gameday
Before every Packer game (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), I will write an upcoming review of the game and the week in the NFL. Baseball Bi-Weekly will end, but there will still be baseball posts. Packers gameday also includes NCAA football talk.
Pathetic Division
Yesterday, the most pathetic things EVER happened to the Big Ten - Divisions. What? Divisions in the Big Ten? Ohio State and Michigan Split up, Badgers and Gophers split up. Sure, there's that one exception (which lets those rivals play), the Badgers can't play teams like Michigan and Iowa. Lot's of Indiana and Purdue coming up. R.I.P. Big Ten.

2010 NFL Preview

This year, the NFL will be different. Unlike anything anyone has seen. Why? Because 1 player will be so dominant that he will immediately make everybody admit he's the best. His name - Jay Cutler. Just kidding. Expect 25 INT from him. The real name - Aaron Rodgers. He will throw for 5,0o0 yards and 48 TD. Not kidding. Oh, and the Packers will win the Super bowl. I'll break down the NFC North - In order.

1. Green Bay Packers (13-3)
The Green Bay Packers are, arguably, the best team in the NFL. Last year, they had the best defense in the NFL. CB Charles Woodson had one of the best CB seasons ever. Also, defensive pro bowler Nick Collins is tremendous. Offensively, Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL. His passer rating was the highest last year, and the line has become above average. Driver and Jennings are the best wide receiver duo in the NFL, and TE Jermichael Finley has the potential to be the best TE in the NFL. Yesterday V.S. the Seahawks, they put a CB on him and he still caught 4 passes for 48 yards and a TD. RB Ryan Grant is a good running back. That's the best i'll say about him, because I don't love Ryan Grant. He's good statistically, but he is inconsistent and the vast majority of his runs are for 1 or 0 yards. He's also very fumble-prone. But the best offense and defense in the NFL will win the super bowl this year and many to come.

2. Minnesota Vikings (9-7)
The Vikings are, sadly, a good football team. Not great, not going to super bowl, but a wild card contender. I hate Brett Favre more than anyone else on Earth, but he is still a legit QB. Maybe 20 TD and 15 INT, but I highly doubt Favre will play the whole year. He's old, injured, and I bet everybody on the Vikings hates him because he can't even make up his mind on play calls, leading to INT. Brett, your still OK, but I REALLY hate you.

3. Chicago Bears (4-12)
The Bears are a terrible football team. They have a joke of a QB, and overrated RB, a once good, now unimpressive defense, and a hideous stadium full of hideous fans. Now I'm not going to deny that Julius Peppers was a good pickup - but a few sacks isn't going to fix an injury prone defense. They'll lose to the Lions once, and pickup a few wins against bad teams, but in Chicago, there will be no winning football for a long, long, long, LONG time.

4. Detroit Lions (3-13)
Still rebuilding, the young Lions had a fantastic draft, Matt Staford is looking ok in the Preseason, and Nudamekin (?) Suh is a stud. In a year they'll be at 7 wins, and better than the Bears. Sure they're not good, but they have fantastic potential.

NFC Champion - The Green Bay Packers
AFC Champion - Indianapolis Colts
Super Bowl Champion - THE PACK
MVP - Unanimously Rodgers, GB
Defensive Player of the Year - Woodson, GB
Rookie - Suh, Lions

Ken Macha...Really? What is Wrong With Your Mind!!!!

5-5 in the bottom of the ninth. Bullpen options - Star closer Axford, master SU man Loe, rookie with ERA under 4 Braddock, Former starter with 4.30 ERA Capuano, or bad SU with ERA of 5 Riske. It's odd that he would even remember the washed up closer with an ERA 7! Well he sure thought about it - he put him in!!!!! And what do you know...double, walk, single, game. Trevor - you suck and you can't help it. Macha - your a pathetic insult to baseball and one of the Gecko Baseball Blog's 5 Stupidest men alive.

FIRE KEN MACHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken Macha Loses his 60h Game in Embarassing Fashion

So I was at the brewers game last night. Brewers vs Diamondbacks. It was a pretty good game, the brewers were up 4-3 dispite hitting no homers, doubles, or tripples. The ARI starter hit 3 Brewers in the 1st 2 innings, which is rediculous. The game also had an odd lineup. Escobar leading off, playing right field. Inglett playing left for Braun, Cain in Center (who is still hitting 500 and made a brilliant play), and Weeks hitting 3rd. But the most odd, rediculous, and absolutley pathetic thing was in the 10th inning. Axford blew the save which happens every once in a while, and the Bewers did not score in the ninth. Tenth inning, tied game. A few bullpen options - Trevor Hoffman, a washed up legend with an ERA of 7, Todd Coffey, a flamethrower with an ERA of 4.70, Chris Capuano, used to be a starter and still should be, ERA is 4.5, and David Riske, an average SU man with an ERA of 5.50.
As you can see, none of these guys are all stars, but of all these options, Macha puts in Trevor Hoffman. Trevor gives up 3 and the Brewers lose. Another desision by Ken Macha that has cost the Brewers a game.

Alex Rodriguez* Hits Career HR #600

New York Yankees star 3B Alex Rodriguez (A-ROD)* has hit his 600th home run. A no doubter to center field, Alex* broke a long homer-less slump and joined the elite class that only Barry Bonds*, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr., and Sammy Sosa* are in. "Always follow your dreams, don't let anyone tell you that you can't be something." says A-Rod*, who using only raw talent became one of the greatest ever. Now, A-Rod* will begin his quest for 763. He will have to pass 7-Time MVP Barry Bonds*.

*Cheated, Lied, and helped ruin baseball 1990-present, would be out of baseball if our commissioner had any idea of what he was doing.

Brewers pound 26 hits as they demolish the Cubs, 18-1

GBB Head Writer Jacob Stein Reports on the Brewers Domination of the Chicago Cubs.
Wrigley Field - A struggling team of late, there was nothing the Milwaukee Brewers needed more than a win. They got much, much more than they asked for. They completely owned the Chicago Cubs, scoring a whopping 18 runs, started by former Cubs player Casey Mcgehee's 3 run blast. Both Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder went 5-7 , Corey Hart added another 4 hits the day of his contract extension, and Alcides Escobar added 3 hits and a brilliant play in CF, where he does not regularly play. Yovani Gallardo pitched 6 innings and easily struck out 12 Chicago Cubs. Cub's rookie reliever made a memorable debut, giving up 6 runs in 2.1 innings. And despite the gargantuan run total, the Brewers only hit one homer. Heres an average inning. We'll take the 4th inning. Braun Singles, Fielder singles, McGehee homers, Edmonds singles, Escobar singles, Lucroy Singles, Gallardo Strikes out, Weeks doubles, Hart and Braun Get out. In the 5th, Fielder singles, McGehee singles, Edmonds walks, Escobar singles, Lucroy lines out, Gallardo reaches on Error, scoring 1, Weeks grounds out, Hart doubles, Braun singles, Fielder grounds out. That's how the game was. Many singles, not many good pitches. But I am mad about one thing. The Brewers, which are leading any team in the majors with HBP by about 20 (that's a lot), got hit 3 more times. Gomez was hit twice, one in the head that could have ended his career and Gallardo, the PITCHER was beaned. The Cubs showed no sympathy. What jerks. Seriously, a 93 mph fastball to the head and no cubs look even concerned. Well, look for Cubs rookie Thomas diamond to be owned tonight, and for 2 more hit brewers.
